“Freakonomics” Blog  
From 2008-2014 was a contributor to the “Freakonomics” blog, first when it was part of the New York Times’ website and continuing on when Freakonomics became an independent site. Published 78 articles (most about 50 percent longer than a typical op-ed) for the Times, and wrote 25 more after Freakonomics migrated. In this role had very broad latitude to write on any topic related to transportation. Topics included:

2017                Eric A Morris (PI), Mashrur Chowdhury, Sakib Khan, and Judith Mwakalonge (Co-PIs). Assessing the experience of providers and users of transportation network company ridersharing services. Grant from the Center for Connected Multimodal Mobility. $45,000.
 
2016                Co-PI on team that won a federal Tier 1 University Transportation Center, entitled “Center for Connected Multimodal Mobility,” headquartered at Clemson (the first time Clemson has won such a center). Federal portion of the grant is expected to be over $7m over 5 years. Was judged the second most important contributor to the effort by the PI (Ronnie Chowdhury), and was individually credited with 11 percent of this achievement. Was instrumental in the writing, re-writing, and editing of this proposal.
 
2013                Morris, Eric A (PI), Brian D. Taylor, Evelyn Blumenberg and Mae-Po Kwan (Co-PIs.) Travel behavior and food shopping among low-income auto recipients. Awarded through competitive internal grant competition at Clemson University. Approximately $3000 was secured for a pilot study.
